Educational Excellence
Innovative Teaching Practices
I have successfully increased school enrollment from 300 to 1,000 students through innovative educational approaches and community engagement. To foster positive attitudes and motivation among children, I initiated a motivational speaker program where a successful person from various fields visits the school every fifteen days. These speakers include successful professionals, writers, engineers, pilots, and PSI officers who share their journey to success with students.
Educational innovation includes:
- Motivational speeches by successful individuals every 15 days
- Students recording key points in notebooks and defining their life goals
- Birthday book donation initiative replacing chocolate distribution
- Teachers contributing minimum 10 books on their birthdays to the school library
This approach has created an aspirational environment where students from rural backgrounds dare to dream big. Through the birthday book donation program, thousands of books have been added to the school library annually. Additionally, nearby NGOs have started contributing books to the school. The library has grown significantly with 5 cupboards donated by philanthropists, all filled with quality reading material that has transformed the reading culture in the school.
On February 14th every year, the school organizes book worship ceremonies, book exhibitions, and book rallies. Students form human chains carrying books in their hands, walking through the community to inspire people to read. In one such event, 650 students created a human chain promoting reading culture in the area. These activities have made reading an exciting and valued activity rather than a compulsory academic exercise.
Student Achievements & Recognition
Every year, three students from the school qualify for Navodaya examinations and NMMS examinations, achieving merit positions. This consistent academic success from a rural school demonstrates the effectiveness of holistic educational approaches. Beyond academics, students have excelled in creative fields through the production of 15 short films that showcase their artistic talents and social awareness.
Notable film achievements include:
- “Sacho Saharo” (2015) securing position among Gujarat’s best films
- “Punya” (2018) screened by NCERT at national level
- “Sachi Duniya” (2019) honored by GTPL
- Students featured on Doordarshan and radio stations
- Children’s plays broadcast on radio under “Ladko Bal” program
These films and performances have brought hidden talents to the surface, giving students confidence and exposure beyond their village boundaries. The creative work has been recognized by national media, creating role models within the school community. Students learn scriptwriting, acting, direction, and technical aspects of filmmaking, developing multiple skills that enhance their overall personality and future prospects.
Specialized Educational Programs
The school implements various specialized corners and learning zones to enhance different aspects of student development. These include a Language Corner, Math-Science Corner, Health Corner, and Puzzle Corner, each designed to make learning interactive and engaging. Notice boards donated by philanthropists allow children to display their creative work, boosting their confidence and self-expression.
The school operates a unique “Honesty Shop” where stationery items are kept in a cupboard at wholesale prices without any supervisor. Students take what they need and deposit money in a cash box based on trust and honesty. This system teaches practical lessons about integrity and self-responsibility that no textbook can provide.
Special recognition programs include:
- During Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, 150 students dressed as Gandhi
- A 50-meter long map of India created on the school ground with Gandhi-dressed students standing on it
- Each student presented one of 150 thoughts from Gandhi’s life
- Event covered extensively by national media
These unique celebrations create lasting memories and deep understanding of historical figures and national values. Students don’t just read about Gandhi but embody his principles through experiential learning activities that make education memorable and meaningful.
